I know, it’s March. The transfer furore of January has just died down, the excitement of the end of season has yet to kick in.
We’re focused on the football, on Cheltenham and Yeovil, away draws and home wins. We’re keen to see Lincoln City do enough to earn themselves a League One spot.
From the inside looking out, it’s frightening. History is littered with missed chances and opportunities thrown away for no good reason. This season seems different, but I bet that’s what they said in 1982/83.
From the outside looking in, we’re red-hot favourites. We’ve not been out of the top three all season, we’re clear at the top with a game in hand on our nearest challenger and we’re unbeaten since Boxing Day.
Doesn’t stop the worry though does it?
In that case, why not let your imagination run away with you for a second. if we go up, it opens up a whole new level of player to us. Being in League One gives us carte blanche to pick and choose free agents who might not have been available to us if we remained in League Two.
‘Who like?’, I hear you ask.
Like these five.
(Before anyone says there’s no strikers on the list, I know that. They’re not going to come for free)
