Thanks – Sergio Torres

I had intended to end the article there, but I remember this little genius. The Argentinian was a talented and tricky midfielder brought in on loan immediately after the dismissal of Peter Jackson, in readiness for Chris Sutton’s first game as Lincoln manager. He wasn’t signed by either manager, so neither can take credit; that’s going to be handed to Peterborough for letting him come and whoever at Lincoln made it happen.
He made an immediate impact for Sutton, scoring in his first game as we beat Aldershot 1-0. His signing was immensely popular with the fans who felt a player of his skill would be a great addition to the side, and if we could afford him permanently it would be a signal of our intention.
He scored again as we beat Telford in the FA Cup but returned to Peterborough once his time was up. He was rumoured to be a target in the 2010-11 close season but he opted to move to Crawley in the Blue Square Premier. His choice was vindicated as he scored six times and they were promoted as champions that season as we slipped out of the Football League.
Gary, I went to the Barry Fry evening at the Theatre royal and he said that the only reason they let Anderson go was the current Manager at the time played the Diamond formation and had no room for Wingers but I know that Barry Fry Rates Anderson very highly and thinks he will play at an higher level.
