Six Former Lincoln City Players Doing Surprisingly Well After Leaving The Imps

Theo Archibald

This one pains me, because I liked Theo from the start. He was direct and tricky, and in our run to the EFL Trophy semi-final in 2020/21, he always looked dangerous, as did Zack Elbouzedi. Neither really got a chance, Theo went out on loan and smashed it at Orient.

I wondered if it was a clash with Michael Appleton, but if it were, the worst happened when Mark Kennedy came in, he had Archibald at Macclesfield, a time when the player stated he wanted a move. That killed his Imps career and he was sold to Orient.

He’s still at Orient, settled and having come through some serious injury hell. He’s got a couple of goals and assists for the O’s, and is seen by them as an elder statesman of their side, and has recently taken the captain’s armband. Bear in mind, he was out injured from February 2024 until November 2025, and it’s hard not to respect the steps he’s made. Not bad for a player who couldn’t get a start for City, although he did have Brennan Johnson, Morgan Rogers and Jorge Grant to fight with for a first-team place.
