Lincoln City Pre-Season Schedule Confirmed With League One Trip

Lincoln City will round off their public pre-season schedule with a trip to Barnsley on Saturday, 1 August, completing a double-header on the final weekend before the new campaign.

The Imps will head to Oakwell to face the Sky Bet League One side in a 7 pm kick-off, with the fixture forming the second part of a busy day for Chris Cohen and Tom Shaw’s squad.

Earlier that afternoon, City are already due to take on Doncaster Rovers at Club Doncaster Sports Village, with that game kicking off at 3 pm. It means the final public day of pre-season will see Lincoln split their resources across two away fixtures, giving the coaching staff one last chance to assess minutes, fitness and combinations before the league campaign begins.

There will be no home pre-season friendlies this time out, with the works continuing at Sincil Bank. The Imps Territory work is well underway, with lots of building going on, and the ground won’t be ready for visitors until the pre-season schedule is complete.

The Barnsley fixture is the final public game to be added to the schedule, with the club confirming there will be no further public fixtures announced. Ticket details for the Oakwell game will be released in due course.

Imps Pre-Season Schedule Confirmed

City’s preparations begin on Saturday, 11 July with a trip to Boston United, where the Imps will face the Pilgrims at The Jakemans Community Stadium in a 3 pm kick-off.

They will then head to Spain as part of their warm-weather training camp, with a fixture against Leyton Orient scheduled for Friday, 17 July at The Pinatar Arena in Spain. That game will kick off at 4 pm.

A Lincolnshire derby follows on Tuesday 28 July, as City travel to Blundell Park to take on Grimsby Town in a 7pm kick-off.

The schedule then concludes on Saturday, 1 August with the double-header against Doncaster and Barnsley, bringing the public side of pre-season to a close.
