Championship Latest: West Ham Complete £1m Deal, Wolves Set For £6.4m Transfer Windfall

The Championship market is already moving quickly, with young players, sell-on clauses and major outgoing deals all part of the latest round of summer activity. West Ham United and QPR have added to their squads, while there is plenty of other news to enjoy.

West Ham Complete Lamadrid Deal

West Ham United have completed the permanent signing of Keiber Lamadrid after triggering the option in his January loan agreement, according to West Ham Blog.

The Venezuelan winger joined the Hammers from Deportivo La Guaira earlier this year, and the London club have now moved to secure him permanently for a reported fee of around £1 million. The 22-year-old arrived with a growing reputation, having been named Best Under-23 Player in the Venezuelan top flight during his final season before the switch.

Lamadrid’s first few months in England were largely spent building fitness and adjusting to West Ham’s Under-21 setup, but he did feature at senior level. He made his first-team debut in February, playing 72 minutes in a 1-0 FA Cup win against Burton Albion.

The deal comes at a time when West Ham are reportedly under pressure to raise around £150 million through player sales, with first-team departures expected this summer. Even so, the relatively low fee makes Lamadrid a low-risk addition, and the club clearly feel there is enough long-term potential to justify keeping him beyond the end of his loan spell.
