Championship Latest: Stoke City Sanction International’s Exit, Wolves Eye World Cup Star

Transfer activity across the Championship continues to build, with Stoke City, Preston North End and Wolverhampton Wanderers all involved in fresh developments.

Stoke City Linked With Daniel Karlsbakk Move

Stoke City are reportedly showing strong interest in Sarpsborg 08 striker Daniel Karlsbakk, with the 23-year-old having rebuilt his reputation in Norway after returning from the Netherlands.

The forward struggled to make a sustained impact during his spell with SC Heerenveen between 2023 and 2025, but has since become one of the leading attacking players in the Eliteserien. According to reports in Norway, Stoke are among the clubs tracking him as they look to strengthen their forward options ahead of the new Championship campaign.

Karlsbakk has scored 21 goals in 38 league appearances since last year, form which has brought renewed interest from abroad. Sarpsborg 08 are said to view him as an important player and would prefer not to sell, although the report suggests a departure remains possible if interest develops into a firm offer.

Stoke’s interest comes as they continue to shape their squad for the new season. The Potters are expected to add attacking depth this summer, and Karlsbakk’s recent scoring record has placed him on their list of potential options.
