Millwall Make Ciaron Brown Enquiry

Millwall have made an enquiry about Oxford United defender Ciaron Brown as Alex Neil looks to add further depth to his defensive options.

The Lions are exploring a potential deal for the Northern Ireland international, whose Oxford contract runs until the summer of 2027. Brown has made 196 appearances in all competitions for the U’s, scoring 15 goals and providing six assists.

Oxford are currently subject to a transfer embargo, temporarily preventing them from registering new players. The club have stressed that their focus is on retaining the existing squad, although the situation could leave them vulnerable to approaches for key players.

Brown initially joined Oxford on loan from Cardiff City in January 2022 before completing a permanent move later that year. The 28-year-old has since established himself as a regular on the left side of defence and helped the club win promotion through the League One play-offs in 2024.

Millwall currently have Jake Cooper, Tristan Crama and Caleb Taylor among their central defensive options, while Kamarl Grant is expected to leave on loan. Brown’s ability to operate at centre-back or left-back would give Neil additional cover across the back line.
