Championship Latest: Arsenal To Target West Ham Star, West Brom Sanction Striker Exit

Arsenal Consider West Ham United Defender Reunion

West Ham United could face interest in Konstantinos Mavropanos after Arsenal identified their former defender as a possible summer target.

The Greek international spent three-and-a-half years on Arsenal’s books after joining from PAS Giannina in January 2018, although he made only eight senior appearances for the club. Loan spells with Nuremberg and Stuttgart followed before the latter completed a permanent transfer in 2022.

Arsenal are now reported to be monitoring Mavropanos as Mikel Arteta considers further additions to his title-winning squad. The Gunners already have several right-footed centre-backs, so their interest has not yet developed into a formal approach.

Mavropanos joined West Ham from Stuttgart in August 2023 and remains under contract until 2028. He is also attracting attention from other Premier League clubs and sides elsewhere in Europe following West Ham’s relegation to the Championship.

The Hammers are attempting to reshape their squad under Nuno Santo, but could find it difficult to retain some of their established players. Arsenal have also been linked with winger Crysencio Summerville, who impressed for the Netherlands at the World Cup.
