Jack Moylan
I know, it’s an obvious pick to us, but it’s not obvious to anyone else. Jack is a magical player, but this time last season, even Lincoln fans wondered where he might fit in. The fact he has shown the Barnsley away potential every single week since coming back has underlined his ability to us, but for some, there might be question marks. His international hat-trick ‘only’ came against Grenada. Whether he played well or not against Qatar, he was still sent off. His senior football has all been in Ireland or League One. There is no guarantee of success.
I think he was better for us than Szomdics was for Peterborough and Colchester, and he has gone on to have a good Championship career. Moylan is coming to the second tier younger, maybe at just the right time. He’s adjusted to the severity of the English game, but is still young enough to be cocky, flippant on the ball and try special things. I’m not sure there will be any more or less space or time for him, but watching him at the Jakeman’s on Saturday just reminded me what a very special player he is.
