Once again, the Stacey West Patreons have come together to sponsor a player, and this season, it is Dom Jefferies.
The site has previously sponsored a few players: Richard Walton and Danny Rowe ourselves; Hakeeb Adelakun, Matt Green, Cian Bolger, and Ethan Erhahon in conjunction with overseas Imps; and, last season, Erik Ring as the Stacey West Patreons. I seem to recall we sponsored an academy player a few seasons back, but the name of the player escapes me now.
Erik Ring was sponsored by a group of our Patreons. There is a community of more than 200 Imps who share a Discord and special content, and we all chip in to sponsor a player, with their shirts being used for charity events, auctions, etc. Last season it was Erik, but this season, we needed a new player.
We are genuinely delighted to sponsor Dom this season. It’s partly as an apology for me spelling his name wrong in his first season, partly because he resides in the home town of one of our group (I won’t say who as I don’t want to give away his location) and almost certainly because he represented the title-winning season as much as anyone.
Dom was decent in 2024/25, but struggled with an injury we knew he had when we signed him. That was corrected last summer, but he came into the side later than most. His application, hard work and endeavour pushed him to the edge of the first team picture, and his goal against Cardiff underlined his arrival, his return, whatever you want to call it.
At the Stacey West, we respect players who graft. Dom’s got plenty about him on the ball, but first and foremost, he has the right attitude. He wants to play, as seen by his frustration after coming on and being taken off again against Charlton. He works tirelessly for the side, and that was a prerequisite last season.
We’re delighted to announce our sponsorship of Dom Jefferies, and here’s hoping for a hugely successful season from him.
