Joe Gauci
Gauci is a bit older at 26, but appears ninth on the list for prevented goals in League One last season, one place behind Whitworth, and 17th for saves per 90, one place behind Lo-Tutala. He’s also 6ft 4in tall, closer to our profile perhaps.
Gauci established himself with Adelaide United, making 76 appearances and keeping 16 clean sheets before Aston Villa brought him to England in February 2024. His performances in Australia earned him a place in the PFA A-League Team of the Season, while he has also won eight senior caps for his country after making his international debut against Ecuador in 2023, but was not part of their World Cup squad.
His opportunities at Villa have been limited to two cup appearances, but he has since gained regular EFL experience. A short loan at Barnsley produced seven league outings before injury disrupted his campaign, while he made 41 appearances in all competitions for Port Vale during 2025/26. Despite their relegation, Gauci earned positive reviews and produced several important performances, including a penalty save against Barnsley.
