Lincoln City could have a number of players heading away on international duty during the September and October break, with Ivan Varfolomeev already receiving his first senior Ukraine call-up.
It is a proud moment for our midfielder, but he might not be the only Imp swapping club colours for those of his country over the coming weeks.
Some look stronger candidates than others, with established internationals, players pushing for a first senior appearance and a couple of outsiders among those who could come into consideration. There is also interest beyond our immediate first-team squad, with Oisin Gallagher potentially involved at under-21 level while out on loan at Barnet.

Ivan Varfolomeev – Ukraine
Ivan Varfolomeev is already confirmed in Ukraine’s senior squad for the first time, having previously represented his country at under-16, under-19 and under-21 level. He has been involved in their qualifying campaign for the 2027 Under-21 European Championship, but now has the chance to make the step up after an impressive first season with us brought our Young Player of the Season award.
Ukraine have four Nations League games during the break, giving Ivan several opportunities to earn his first senior cap.
