The Mandela Effect: Lincoln City Edition

Jack Moylan’s Goal Won Promotion

“Jack Moylan…. Championship.”

When I think back to Jack scoring against Reading, I hear the commentary now. That’s how much I have listened to it over the last few months. That reinforces the belief that his goal sealed our promotion, giving us those wonderful moments on the Madjeski turf.

It didn’t, though, did it? We’d have been confirmed as Champions even if we’d drawn the game 1-1, as we would have done if Jack had missed. Ryan One’s opener was the key, along with Stockport and Bolton drawing elsewhere. Their game had finished, meaning whatever happened in those final few minutes, only a Reading goal could deny us.

We didn’t need Jack’s goal, it just added a postscript to a story we’d already written.
