19-year old Surridge could well be a player we see at Sincil Bank next season. Ryan Allsop’s loan was a roaring success, resulting in him getting a move to League One Wycombe. He will have spoken to Eddie Howe and, given the set up here, it is likely we’ll be going back there for new faces this season.
Surridge is a name you might think is familiar, that’s because he spent last season on loan at Yeovil, making 53 appearances for the Glovers, scoring ten time in all competitions. He scored a brace as Yeovil beat Coventry 6-2 at the Ricoh, as well as bagging in two matches against Exeter City.
He’s a big lad too, 6ft 3in and can operate centrally as a nine or a ten. Danny won’t be naïve, contrary to what many think and I suspect he’ll go into this season with five strikers. If Lee Shaw is a success and if we sign John Akinde, that brings the current total to four, making a move for a loan player the obvious choice.
If anyone is going to ‘replace’ Ollie Palmer, it could be Surridge. He even had a similar record, coming off the bench 21 times in the league. He’s tall, physical but with a neat touch too.
