Lets end on a high note shall we? after all, a swoop for this guy would almost be as impressive as Mansfield getting Tyler Walker.
The 20-year old winger joined Bournemouth from Blackburn Rovers in January for a fee that a tribunal ruled should be close to half a million quid. That’s not small change for a kid who had made just 21 appearances for Rovers.
He started out at Accrington, making his debut there as a 16-year old. That caught the eye of Blackburn who snatched him for their own development squad but, before the Cherries came knocking, he did break into the first team at Ewood Park. It was as they tumbled out of the Championship, he made 16 appearances.
Last season he went out to Barnsley, but only played four times as they slipped out of the second tier. He’s a quality player with bags of pace and a trick or two and maybe, just maybe he’d be willing to drop into League Two with us on loan.
Whether we can accommodate wingers under whichever system Danny plays next season remains to be seen because, as yet, there’s little indication of us bringing any in. Perhaps the loan market is where our real tactical approach will reveal itself this season.
