Bruno Andrade

We’re going to miss Bruno, there’s no doubt about that at all. Up until his injury before Christmas he was right up there as a possible Player of the Season. He’s gone off the boil a little, the sceptics amongst you might think skilful wingers and cold evening don’t mix, but the truth is he’s getting back to full fitness.
His dismissal on Saturday was, let’s be honest, stupid. It could have been avoided and although it was a reaction, it is unacceptable. I can’t defend it and he’ll now serve a three-match ban. That rules him out of the huge clash with Grimsby, the vital televised game against Bury and the trip to Yeovil. Not ideal.
There’s a couple of options in terms of replacements. The obvious choice is Tom Pett who deputised for him as we beat Morecambe before Christmas, and again as we beat Newport. when he first came to the club it was as a winger, so there’s every chance he’ll get the nod.
We might see Bernard Mensah if Danny wants to shake it up a bit. Harry and Bruno often swap flanks and he could surely do the same with Mensah and Harry. It’s not as likely, but even with our small squad, there are options.
There could be a new face too, although any transfer we make is unlikely to be done so with Bruno’s suspension in mind.
