There’s a total of six Lincoln City players currently out of contract this summer, players Danny will have to make a decision on in the coming weeks.
Aside from the loan players, six of the first team squad do not currently have a deal running to next season. We’ve already covered Matt Rhead on the blog and decided he’s one we’d love to see stay. Another one is Matt Gilks and as we haven’t seen him as yet, I’m going to leave opinion on him well alone.
That leaves four players currently with their future uncertain.
Is there enough quality in the squad to let any of them go? Will they all accept terms of re-engagement if offered? There’s plenty to be discussed and decided, so we’ve put together a little dossier of the players in question to help Danny decide. Not that he needs another keyboard warrior telling him what to do of course!
What we will say before kicking off today’s article is the squad is as settled and secure as at any time in many years. The financial restraint suffered by Keith and even Colin Murphy is no longer evident and whilst we’re not spending over and above our means, we’re clearly being very prudent with the budget in hand.
