Paul Connor

Paul Connor was unlucky with injuries and the management situation at the club whilst he was here, but that doesn’t hide the fact he was poor. He had been half-decent for Rochdale, Cheltenham and Swansea during his career, but he arrived at Sincil Bank in a time of turmoil. He survived manager Peter Jackson, injured after five matches for five months. When he came back he couldn’t get into the rhythm of the side, and Davide Somma overshadowed him too. He left at the end of the season, scoring 11 for Mansfield Town the next season. Had he stayed fit and played in a settled side he might have been another Dave Cameron or Phil Daley, unremarkable but nowhere near a list like this. He didn’t, he wasn’t and he is.
