Scott Spencer

Following his release by Southend, Scott Spencer had a point to prove. He got his chance, coming on in the final minutes of our 2-1 win against the shrimpers in 2010/11. He even went through, one-on-one with the keeper and the ground held it’s breath. With the ‘Tilson is an Imp’ banner flapping in the wind, Spencer swung a boot and fluffed his lines. Gone was his moment.
Spencer didn’t score for City. he played ten games, including our 5-1 defeat at home against Shrewsbury, the 4-0 defeat at the hands of Gillingham and the 6-0 reverse at the hands of Rotherham. In those games, he never looked like scoring and he left at the end of the season. Two years later he did get his goal at the Bank, scoring as we beat Hyde 3-2.
