FC Halifax Town: Loanee Thomas returns to parent club Preston | Halifax Courier

You might not have heard of Jamie Thomas before now, and guess what; I hadn’t either.

The 25-year-old came through the youth ranks at Bolton and Blackpool, signing a professional deal with the trotters in 2016. He didn’t make it there, and it started a succession of non-league spells, including Bamber Bridge, AFC Blackpool and Squires Gate. After a short trial with Preston, he was surprisingly given a contract but didn’t make an appearance. He had a loan spell with Halifax last season, failing to score for them, and was released in the summer.
