One Player From Every League One Club I’d Love Lincoln City To Sign

Mansfield Town – Louis Reed

I’m not sure anyone has really impressed me from Mansfield. Rhys Oates looked lively, and Jamie McDonnell would have been my pick had he not left. Thinking back to the win at their place, it was a bit stodgy at times, but they didn’t impress me hugely.

I recall a late drive from Reed, and I think he had a busy game across the middle of the park. I guess he’d be a decent squad player for us, but in truth, there isn’t a Mansfield player I wish we could take with us at all.

Northampton Town – Tyrese Fornah

This is a hard pick because Northampton didn’t show a lot in either game against us. The second match was a whitewash, but I recall Fornah looking hungry, if not all that able to break us down.

Like Mansfield, there isn’t a Cobbler I’d take to the Championship, but if absolutely pushed, it would be Fornah just because he has a bit of pace and attacking intent.

Peterborough United – Brandon Khela

What a pleasure to go from two teams with so few to choose from to a side packed with talent. I could have picked Lisbie, Okagbue, Hayes or Garbett, but instead, I’ve gone for a player we were linked with.

Brandon Khela was apparently a target for us, and I can see why. He felt like a rangy midfielder, a gait not unlike Ali Smith, covering lots of ground and showing excellent application and work rate. He’s got some attacking intent as well, and he felt like he might have been the sort of player we’d earmark as a long-term replacement for Tom Bayliss.

I like Posh’s collection of players, but they have to find the right way to apply themselves, as they shouldn’t still be fighting for points to stay up.
