Which Areas Might Lincoln City Be Looking To Target This Summer Transfer Window

Derby County 2024/25

In: Corey Blackett-Taylor (Charlton Athletic), Ben Osborn (Sheffield United), Kayden Jackson (Ipswich Town), Kenzo Goudmijn (AZ Alkmaar), Emmanuel Ilesanmi (Harrogate Town), Morten Spencer (Leeds United), Alex Stepien-Iwumene (Southampton), Ebou Adams (Cardiff City), Freddie Turley (Shamrock Rovers), Rohan Luthra (Cardiff City), Jacob Widell Zetterström (Djurgården)

Loans: Jerry Yates (Swansea City), David Ozoh (Crystal Palace), Tawanda Chirewa (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Marcus Harness (Ipswich Town), Nat Phillips (Liverpool)

This is maybe a stretch, Derby are a bigger club and in terms of budget might be a little further ahead of us than Pompey next season, but they did delve into the European market. As usual, there were Premier League loans and, as per the other clubs promoted, those loans didn’t really land. Yates and Harness were older players loaned in and did land, each making 42 appearances, Yates making 40 starts.

Derby shopped in the Eredivisie for Goudmijn, who made 44 appearances, scoring twice, before being loaned back to the same level. He’s still a Ram but finished the season with Go Ahead Eagles. Zetterström has made the number one slot his own, the second Scandinavian keeper to go to one of the clubs I have picked and do relatively well. Oddly, he’s keeping Josh Vickers out of the side, while Schmid at Pompey is keeping another former Imp, Josef Bursik, out of the side.

Like the others I have picked, Derby stayed up, finishing 19th.
