Ten World Cup 2026 Stars You’ve Seen Play Against Lincoln City

Tahith Chong – Curaçao

Chong was the another player on display that night for United. He developed at Feyenoord and Manchester United, where he won youth and reserve-team awards before making his senior debut in 2019. Loans at Werder Bremen, Club Brugge and Birmingham City followed, then permanent moves to Birmingham, Luton Town and Sheffield United.

He only lasted 45 minutes of the game at the Bank, coming of at half time for Anthony Elanga, who is also at the tournament with Sweden.

Chong played right through the Netherlands youth system, from under-15s to under-21s, but later switched to Curaçao. FIFA approved that change in 2025, and he quickly made an impact, scoring twice against Bermuda in World Cup qualifying and again in a friendly against Scotland.

Chong’s Curaçao side open against Germany on June 14, with Ecuador next on June 20. Ivory Coast are last up on June 25, and by then the debutants will know exactly how steep the climb has been.
