Tom McIntyre
A 27-year-old left-sided centre back, McIntyre, might be one to keep in mind. He came through Reading’s academy and made 105 league appearances for the club, scoring six times after making his senior debut in 2018. He joined Portsmouth in January 2024 but suffered a fractured ankle on his debut, missing the rest of their promotion-winning season, before later spending time on loan at Charlton Athletic and Bradford City.
Portsmouth agreed to end his contract in February 2026, allowing the Scotland youth international to sign a short-term deal with Aberdeen, where he had made three league appearances by May 2026.
The fear here is that he didn’t do well at Bradford, and before that, he was on loan at Charlton as well, so it feels like maybe League One might be his target area.
