Birmingham City Striker Joins LA Galaxy
Birmingham City striker Kyogo Furuhashi has completed a move to LA Galaxy after one season with the Championship club.
The Japan forward has signed a five-year contract with the Major League Soccer side and will occupy an international place on their roster.
Kyogo joined Birmingham last summer, having moved to Rennes from Celtic in January 2025. His time in England lasted one season, during which he scored three goals in 31 appearances.
The Birmingham City striker has now completed a third move in quick succession, following his transfers from Celtic to Rennes and Rennes to Birmingham.
LA Galaxy general manager Will Kuntz said the club were pleased to add a player with Kyogo’s experience and goalscoring ability.
“We’re excited to welcome Kyōgo to the LA Galaxy and to Los Angeles.
“He brings a wealth of experience having played matches with the Japanese national team, in the UEFA Champions League, and in some of the best domestic leagues in Europe.
“We’re thrilled to add a player of his calibre, goal-scoring ability and diverse experience to our group and look forward to the impact he will make on and off the field.”
Kyogo’s move brings his Birmingham career to an end after 31 appearances and three goals last season.
