Marvin Johnson
Johnson has played for clubs including Motherwell, Oxford United, Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday, most recently making a handful of appearances during a short spell with Port Vale.
Three years ago, I’d have been really excited by this. He was linked with us when he signed for Sheffield Wednesday, but at 35, his Championship days have gone.
In fairness, he showed some good touches, and he was audibly using his experience to coach a couple of the other players, but he did look some way off what we’d need for next season.
He did grab the assist for the goal with a wicked cross though, showing legs might not stand the test of time, but quality on the ball does.
