It’s that day again, Deadline Day!! How very exciting, right?
Who is coming in, who is going out? What might happen today that swings the challenge at the top of the table one way or another. I’m here with you (nearly) all day, as well as over on Football League World. If you want to keep in touch with the news, these are the places where you need to be.
Save the page, keep it open on your phone and refreshed as much as possible. You can take a break at 11.30 for a couple of hours, I’m off to Grimsby Town to interview Elliot Embleton, but after that I’ll be with you through until 11pm.
Off we go.
22.11pm – Okay, we’ve got 50 minutes to go but, due to this blog somehow buggering up my site whenever I update it, I’ll be reverting back to just articles. For any significant L2 news I’ll do an article tomorrow, if we grab anyone before 11pm then you’ll get something this evening.
Thanks for sticking with me, it’s been a blast. A CPU intensive one apparently, one in which we’ve had 10,000 more views than last deadline day, but it’s been fun.
22.05pm – First one for City. Leeds’ Sam Dalby heads to Morecambe on loan too.
21.49pm – I heard right. Seems that there’s almost certainly one in at City, maybe two. There’s a position that I think needs covering, just in case but it comes down to pounds and pence. Doesn’t everything.
21.31pm – Grand Designs on the box and not a lot happening. I’m hearing that Michael Doyle might actually be moving to Notts county after all. Could be a big player for them
20.59pm – Two hours to go and there’s strikers going in all over the place. Cheltenham have added Rakish Bingham after his release by Hamilton. Aston Villa have loaned another out to our division too, Harry McKirdy joining Newport County.
Stevenage have let Ben Kennedy join Newport. surprising move that, I rate Kennedy and thought he’d be sticking around at Broadhall Way.
20.57pm – I’ve had my dinner now and come back to see that Toby Edser has signed for Port Vale. he was on trial here in the summer and later went to Woking.
Paul Anderson has left Mansfield too. He was a Steve Evans signing last summer but his spell there has been injury plagued.
20.18pm – Theo Robinson might be set for another deadline day debacle. He loves a last gasp move, doesn’t he?
20.08pm – Northampton have signed Charlie Goode. But you’re not here for that, are you?
19.55pm – Imps rebuke offers for players
19.40pm – Mo Eisa is NOT leaving Bristol City. I know, I know….. he’s a £1m player and the reports of him leaving have been grossly over played. Danny Hylton, he’s also NOT joining Lincoln. He’s heading to Oxford but with wages well in excess of any of our lads, is it any surprise?
19.08pm – It’s heating up now. Virgil Gomis has signed for Notts County on loan, another favour from Forest to one of our rivals, although only until this weekend, after that County won’t matter to us at all. Macclesfield have been busy today, they’ve added Swansea striker Botti Biabi.
19.00pm – Four hours to go and sadly we’re experiencing some technical issues. Typical, busiest day of the bloody year too! MK Dons have made a big signing, Ste Walker from Boro. You might not have heard of him, but he’s been casuing a stir on Teesside and is probably as exciting as Tyler Walker…. big news.
18.47pm – Why the break? This article.
In the time it’s taken me to write that, Swindon have captured Birmingham City’s Cameron McGilp. Great surname that.
I would imagine any potential Imps’ signing is someone with more Football League experience.
18.07pm – Michael Hortin has updated us on the possibility of a League One striker coming in on loan. Is Danny going to get his man 18 months late?
Tiny bit more, the League One striker on loan is close. The out is 50/50, if that happens another in is likely. Hopefully more soon…

18.03pm – The bedding will have to wait, there’s deals…. but not at Lincoln. Stevenage have signed a young keeper from Blackburn called Ollie Byrne.
Carlisle have made another signing, bringing in Stefan Scougall who has previously played under manager Steven Pressley at Fleetwood.
17.47pm – Notts county have been told Michael Doyle is not available by Coventry City. The updates might get a little less frequent now as I have chores to do. Make the bed, wash up, all the stuff I should have done before now. Fe is due back home this evening and the house is pretty much as she left it, just with more pots.
17.22pm – Duffus, who I’m pretty sure was in Something About Mary, has left Oldham Athletic. Duffus, first name Courtney, has switched to Yeovil after failing to impress himself on the Boundary Park first team.
17.17pm – We’ve been at this for eight hours or so and as yet, there’s been nothing out of the club. Not a murmur. Not a rumour. Nothing. It is apparent that Matt Rhead isn’t going to Grimsby though. Another rubbish rumours, just like when he was going to Barrow or Chester in days gone by.
He’s an Imp.
17.06pm – I’ve had to light a fire, it’s bloody cold up here in the hills.
It’ll be chilly at Notts County if they don’t get this latest deal over the line. They’re hoping to secure Nottingham Forest’s Virgil Gomis on loan but as yet, it hasn’t been done.
16.41pm – It’s one heading out at Swindon. Sol Pryce joins Dulwich Hamlet on loan. He was the 1000th player to play for Swindon. Still is.
16.22pm – Shamir Mullins, formerly of FGR, joins Macclesfield from Maidstone. Interesting one that, surprising he’s back in the Football League.
16.10pm: Donovan Wilson has moved to Exeter City on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers. Had a loan spell with port Vale last season, an unremarkable one too.
16.05pm – My dog’s eaten something he shouldn’t Trust me.
One time Imps target Ade Azeez has swapped Cambridge for Newport today, there’s an undisclosed fee involved. Having seen Azeez in action, I can’t imagine it’ll be enough to buy a house. Cambridge have brought in left back Hayden Coulson too.
Bury have signed Rangers midfielder Jordan Rossiter on loan too.
Finally, Aaron Taylor-Sinclair has moved from Motherwell to Crewe.
15.29pm – My dog has had to wait. Here’s an update of what I think may, or may not happen in the next seven hours.
15.11pm – Stevenage are right on it today. They’ve signed Jordan Gibson on loan from Bradford City now, although it looks like the Calum Dyson move is now off.
The dog is beginning to cross his legs and give me that look. Might be time for me to go outside in the cold and carry around a small black bag of faeces for half an hour.
Cue Imps’ announcement
15.04pm – It’s striker time! Chris Dagnall has signed for Tranmere Rovers following his release from Bury, whilst Yeovil have added Tristan Abrahams from Norwich. He’s been with Exeter City recently but didn’t impress.
There’s movement in the division above us for a former target, Stefan Payne. He’s left Bristol Rovers, heading back to Shrewsbury on loan.
14.35pm – One out at Crawley, Mark Connolly has left the club, signing for Dundee United.
For those who were interested, here’s my sausage sandwich. Lathered in sauce, a real beard problem poser.
14.21pm – Right, time to smash a couple of sausages my missus has left in the fridge and get the kettle on. If anything happens in the next ten minutes I apologise, but even I have to eat. This figure doesn’t come for free.
14.16pm – Agents must have just woken up as we have two more in our league. Notts County are at it again, they’ve raided Middlesbrough for youngster Sam Stubbs.
Swindon look poised to add Bristol Rovers Kyle Bennett to their squad. Never heard of him.
14.15pm – Let’s face it, you’re not tuning in for this sort of stuff are you? You want to know about Lincoln signings. I’ll tell you what, the rumours of Matt Rhead leaving and Mo Eisa coming in seem fanciful. Also, where are these big bids for Harry Anderson those in the know keep talking about?
I don’t expect any major outgoings this window. Easy to say with less than seven hours left though!
14.14pm – Stevenage have signed Elijah Adebayo on loan from Fulham. He’s been at Swindon of late, but was bombed out by their manager before our 2-2 draw with some heavy criticism ringing in his ears.
Let’s hope he hasn’t taken note in time for our clash in February.
14.13pm – There’s a Premier League winger on his way to Colchester. Callum Roberts is joining on loan until the end of the season, but does this signal a Barnsley move for Sammy Szmodics?
13.59pm – It’s not transfer news, but former Imps’ striker Vadaine Oliver will miss eight weeks of the season after injuring his knee. That’s a big blow to Morecambe as they try to yet again remain in the Football League.
13.47pm – Might be old news this, but Carlisle are going for it. They’ve not only got Callum O’Hare on loan from Aston Villa, but also Mark Cullen from Blackpool. We’ve still got to go there and O’Hare alone would be a big prospect to face.
13.36pm – There it is. Kristian Dennis leaves Notts County on loan until the end of the season. Big signing for the Cods that and as we’ve played them twice, good news for us.
13.33pm – I really want Morecambe to stay up and they boosted their chances by taking Piero Mingoia on loan from Accrington Stanley. He’s been frozen out at the Crown Ground and should be a big capture for the Shrimps.
13.17pm – Back from Cheapside, the Grimsby Town training ground. Nothing to report, aside from me parking in Michael Jolley’s space. Turns out he’s at Blundell Park signing up a player. Could it be Kristian Dennis? Big signing if it is.
Looking at the news, doesn’t seem as though I’ve missed much. Chris Dagnall has left Bury and Plymouth forward Calum Dyson is being linked with Stevenage. That’s about it.
11.14am – Not League Two, but it may be of interest to us next season. Scunthorpe are on the verge of agreeing a deal for a 19-year-old defender, Jacob Bedeau, who once cost Aston Villa £1m.
10.44am – Here’s a good one. Joe Bunney, who has been on loan at Blackpool, has had that cancelled and returns to Rochdale. Why on a League Two blog? Because he belongs to Northampton and had previously been at Rochdale. It’s twisted my melon, I’m off for a shower so I smell nice(r) for Grimsby.
10.33am – One out at Northampton, Hakeem Odoffin has left for Livingston. Terrific…. I think….
10.22am – MK Dons busy this morning. They’re set to take Jake Hesketh on loan from Premier League Southampton.
10.09am – Another one out. this time at Notts County as Branislav Pindroch leaves. Five appearances in total so I’m not sure we’ve got much of an advantage this weekend because of it.
9.55am: Matty Willock, brother of Joe and Chris, has joined Crawley on loan from Manchester United. There’s one out at MK Dons too, Peter Pawlett has joined Dundee United for an undisclosed fee. Here’s a shout; will anyone actually disclose a fee in League Two today?
9.32am – The dog has been walked, he’s chuffed to pieces. Chris Sang isn’t, the 19-year-old has had his contract with Bury terminated. Soon to be appearing at a non-league club near you.
8.53am – What are we expecting from City today? There’s strong rumours we could be close to a deal with a former Championship left back as cover for Harry Toffolo, and the Lincolnshire Echo are reporting we’re in the hunt for a striker.
Deadline Day. Striker hunt. Wow. Sounds familiar.
8.25am – Bury look set to sign Jordan Rossiter on loan from Scottish giants Rangers.
8.16am – Cup of tea. Got to walk the dog too. Nobody in or out in League Two as yet.
