Mikael Mandron
I’ve saved what I believe is the best until last, but there’s bound to be some asking me what the hell I’m thinking. Mikael Mandron has been released by Colchester, a year after being linked with moves to us and Peterborough amongst others.
We need a new centre forward and I think this is him. We need a player John Akinde can play off, can swap with and who can even stand in for our leading scorer. This is him.
Mandron came across our path in the National League when he was playing for Eastleigh. He had joined them from Sunderland and bagged 10 goals in 28 outings, earning him a move to Wigan. That didn’t work out and he shifted to Colchester, where he’s been used sparingly. I’ve been told he’s played on the wing a few times, not the place for his talents to shine through.
He’s been described as a model professional, seemingly the right personality for our side as well as the right size and position.
He’s 6ft 3in tall, still only 24-years-old and is a player I’m absolutely certain could be a big signing for us. I even wrote a piece on Football League world this morning saying exactly the same thing, which you can read here if you want to know more.
Of all the players I’ve mentioned, the two I’d love to see join would be Mandron and Payne, but there’s plenty of other free agents out there I haven’t considered. Only time will tell who Danny picks up as the summer draws on.
Interesting read Gary, personally I agree with Mandron. He’d be a good addition to the squad.
Understood Danny Cowley to have indicated he would be looking at National League and Non League, any thoughts on players from there?
Facts about the manager is all we actually care about, especially now it’s reported he’s being interviewed by West Brom. You keep telling us you’ve got his phone number Gary. Call it!
