Ethan Hamilton
“We’ve got Ethan and Ethan in the middle” didn’t quite fit, but for a period last season, it was hard to work out which Ethan was better. Injury cruelly robbed us of Mr Hamilton just as we made our surge towards the play-offs, but that doesn’t diminish what he’s capable of.
He’s perhaps the most likely to partner Ethan Erhaon in the two general midfield roles; it’s widely accepted if we stay in a 3-5-2, then it’ll be two ‘standard’ midfielders and a creator in the mould of Danny Mandroiu (but less tempestuous) or Ted Bishop (but less injured).
Caveat – Hamilton won’t play a part in the early season matches, and that could mean he’s still playing catch up in terms of match fitness by the time we change the clocks. It’s a blow for us, but it’s an opportunity for someone else to shine.
