10 Worst Lincoln City Signings of the EFL Era

1. Jamie Robson

At number one is Jamie Robson—the only signing on this list we paid a significant fee for. That fact alone elevates his disappointment, and the caveat is that we didn’t lose money. Signed from Dundee United to replace Tayo Edun, Robson was meant to be a long-term asset who’d be developed and sold on for profit. He made 47 appearances and 30 league starts but rarely impressed.

There are no stand-out games, no memorable moments, just a series of underwhelming performances. The club reportedly broke even when he was sold to Forest Green, which softened the blow. But for a club that needed quality in that position, and spent money to get it, Robson’s failure is the most significant of the EFL era.
