The Slovenian Job: Ten Players Lincoln City Could Have Been Looking At

Fallou Faye – CM – Bravo

Faye was one I was nudged towards by Ed Harrison, who has conducted a couple of these scouting missions for the site. He (Faye, not Ed) is a 20-year-old midfielder who is currently with NK Bravo, having previously been on the books of Domžale and Dinamo Zagreb. He gained senior Slovenian PrvaLiga experience with Domžale during the 2025/26 season, making 14 league appearances and starting 13 times before later featuring for Bravo. He had earlier appeared for Dinamo Zagreb’s Under-19 side, as well as being listed with the club’s senior setup.

Bravo are interesting – formed in 2006, they earned five promotions in seven seasons to get to the top flight, and last season’s finish of third was their best ever. I wonder if that underdog mentality is something that could appeal to us? They certainly have plenty of young players ranking in the top five for their positions (in the 18-23 age range), and a handful I haven’t mentioned in this piece, such as Beno Selan.

Faye’s stats point to a real engine in the centre of the park. He is a midfielder with a strong defensive profile, averaging 6.81 defensive duels, 5.94 aerial duels and 4.74 interceptions per 90 minutes. He won 61.9% of his defensive duels and 59.6% of his aerial duels, while also averaging 9.96 recoveries and 1.72 clearances
