The Slovenian Job: Ten Players Lincoln City Could Have Been Looking At

Martin Pečar – ST – Bravo

Pečar came through the youth systems of Izola, Koper and Olimpija Ljubljana before moving to Eintracht Frankfurt as a teenager. He later joined Austria Wien II, initially on loan and then permanently, before returning to Slovenian football with Bravo, where he has become a regular first-team player and was named Slovenian PrvaLiga Player of the Month for September 2023. He has also represented Slovenia from Under-15 level through to Under-21s, including appearances at the UEFA Under-21 Championship in 2025.

He’s a striker, and at 5ft 9in, he might not quite be the profile we’re looking for, but I see resale value here. He’s shown an ability to settle in other countries and do well, and spells with Wien and Frankfurt point to a bigger stage player. Of course, you have to understand the level is different, but he averages a goal involvement every other game, with 14 in total, seven goals and seven assists.

He averaged 2.2 shots, 1.01 shot assists and 2.24 progressive runs per 90, while also completing 60.7% of his dribbles and making 3.5 touches in the penalty area. His crossing volume was lower, at 1.78 per 90 with 31.4% accuracy, but the wider figures point to a forward-minded player who carries threat through shooting, ball progression and one-v-one situations.
