Ten Free Agents Championship Clubs Like Lincoln City Could Still Sign

Amir Hadžiahmetović

Last club: Beşiktaş

Amir Hadžiahmetović is a 29-year-old defensive midfielder with more than 300 senior league appearances and extensive experience in Turkey’s top flight. He began his professional career with Željezničar before joining Konyaspor in 2016, going on to make almost 200 appearances in all competitions during seven years with the club. A move to Beşiktaş followed in 2023, although a serious knee injury interrupted his progress and he later spent time on loan with Rizespor. Hadžiahmetović has won the Turkish Cup with both Konyaspor and Beşiktaş, while he has also earned 37 caps for Bosnia and Herzegovina and represented his country at the 2026 World Cup.

Hadžiahmetović demonstrated his suitability for English football during a season-long loan with Hull City in 2025/26, making 39 appearances across all competitions. He would offer a Championship club positional discipline, composure in possession and considerable experience at both domestic and international level. His contract with Beşiktaş was terminated by mutual consent shortly after the start of the new season, making him one of the most immediately prepared players on the free-agent market. Having featured at the World Cup during the summer, he should require relatively little time to regain match sharpness.
