Joe Aribo
Last club: Southampton
Joe Aribo is a 30-year-old midfielder with experience in the Premier League, Championship, Scottish Premiership and European competition. After beginning his senior career with non-league Staines Town, he established himself at Charlton Athletic and helped the Addicks win promotion from League One in 2019. Aribo then spent three seasons with Rangers, winning the Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup before scoring in the 2022 Europa League final. He joined Southampton later that summer and made 111 appearances in all competitions, including 40 during their successful 2023/24 Championship play-off campaign. He has also earned 34 caps for Nigeria and was part of the side that reached the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final.
Aribo can operate centrally or from a wider midfield position, using his strength and technique to protect possession before carrying the ball up the pitch. That versatility, combined with his experience of winning promotion and competing in high-pressure matches, could make him a valuable addition for a Championship club. His involvement diminished during the 2025/26 season, when he made seven appearances for Southampton before playing six times on loan at Leicester City, but he has demonstrated throughout his career that he can contribute goals, physicality and tactical flexibility across several midfield roles.
