Jonathan Panzo

Last club: Birmingham City

Jonathan Panzo is a 25-year-old centre-back who developed in Chelsea’s academy before moving abroad to begin his senior career with Monaco. He has since played in France, Belgium and Portugal, representing Cercle Brugge, Dijon, Standard Liège and Rio Ave, while his English experience includes spells with Nottingham Forest, Coventry City, Cardiff City and Birmingham City. Panzo was a regular during Coventry’s run to the 2023 Championship play-off final, making 32 appearances in all competitions, and returned to the division with Birmingham during the second half of the 2025/26 season.

Panzo also possesses an impressive international pedigree from his development years. He was part of the England side that won the 2017 Under-17 World Cup, earned a place in the European Under-17 Championship Team of the Tournament and later captained England at under-19 level. His varied club career has given him experience of several different leagues and playing styles, while he has already demonstrated that he can perform regularly in the Championship. Still only 25, Panzo could offer defensive depth and further development potential to an EFL club, although he will be seeking greater stability after representing several teams over the past few seasons.
