Marcus Forss
Last club: Middlesbrough
Marcus Forss is a 27-year-old forward who can operate centrally or from the right wing. After developing with West Bromwich Albion and Brentford, he scored 11 goals in 19 appearances during an impressive League One loan with AFC Wimbledon. Forss later helped Brentford win promotion through the Championship play-offs, scoring the decisive goal in their semi-final against Bournemouth, before joining Middlesbrough for a reported £3 million in 2022. He scored 18 times across 92 appearances for Boro and has represented Finland on 21 occasions, including at Euro 2020.
Forss has demonstrated his finishing ability at several EFL clubs, recording ten goals during his first season with Middlesbrough and previously finishing as the EFL Cup’s joint-leading scorer while at Brentford. He could offer a Championship side a direct goal threat, positional versatility and experience of promotion campaigns, but his recent fitness record will require consideration. A torn hamstring ended his 2025/26 loan with Bolton Wanderers prematurely, while the club allowed him to train and play in friendlies during the summer before deciding against offering him a contract. If he can prove his fitness, Forss remains a forward with the pedigree and goalscoring instincts to contribute at Championship level.
