Bim Pepple
First reported: 4th May
Plymouth Argyle forward Bim Pepple was linked with City by the Daily Mail, with Norwich City, Portsmouth and Watford also reportedly monitoring him alongside clubs in Europe and Major League Soccer. The Canadian striker joined Argyle from Luton Town and scored 18 goals in all competitions during his first season at Home Park, including one against us in February, having previously gained senior experience during loan spells with Grimsby Town, Bromley, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Southend United and Chesterfield. Pepple’s performances earned him a place in the Canada squad, although he had yet to make his senior international debut when the report appeared.
Pepple has stayed put, despite lots of chatter over the summer, and has one goal in six outings for the Pilgrims. The timing was interesting: start of the summer, around the time maybe clubs were chatting to agents about long lists? My guess is he featured on a long list, but our interest probably never got to the ‘let’s present’ stage. Given that our interest in Tyrese Shade feels accurate, here is a similar build of player, younger, and very Lincoln City.
