Fabrice Tamba – Winger – Shkëndija

There is something appealing about a winger who wants to get outside his full-back and put the ball into the box. Fabrice Tamba is right-footed, generally operates from the right and brings the pace and directness to keep asking defenders the same uncomfortable question.
The 22-year-old Senegalese attacker stands around 5ft 9in, so the power in his game comes from his movement and acceleration rather than a particularly imposing frame. He has already taken a fairly varied route through senior football, spending time with Covilhã and Beira-Mar in Portugal, followed by Braga’s development setup, before moving to North Macedonia with Shkupi and then Shkëndija. His attacking contribution has helped the latter into the Conference League league phase, offering experience beyond domestic football.
For us, the attraction would be a different way of getting at teams. Tamba can stretch play, attack a defender and deliver from wide positions, while his goal threat means he isn’t simply there to supply someone else. There has previously been reported interest from Amed SK, which suggests other clubs have noticed him, and I would want to look closely at the consistency of his delivery before getting too carried away. Still, a direct winger with end product is a profile I would happily have on the list.
