At 6ft 3in, Strahinja Rakić would certainly add some presence in the middle of the park. The Serbian midfielder is 20, came through Jedinstvo Ub and moved to RFS in Latvia in 2025, giving him senior experience in two countries already.

His positioning is a big part of the attraction. Rakić looks to occupy the spaces opponents want to play through, cutting out passes and using his size to compete in the air, rather than relying entirely on chasing the ball. There is also an intention to progress possession and contribute further forward once his side have won it back.

The issue is that those useful interventions can be accompanied by too many fouls. Winning possession loses some of its value if the next challenge hands it straight back, and that is something I would want to see improve before asking him to cope with Championship midfielders.

He has been getting more football during 2026 and has appeared in Conference League qualifying, but regular starts and full matches have been harder to come by. That makes him a less immediate option than some here, although his age, frame and ability to affect the game in both directions leave plenty to work with.
