There is often a bit of a taboo about signing non-league players when you’re a league team.
Obviously not if you’re Peterborough United, but in recent seasons, they haven’t been as successful as they used to be. Chris Conn-Clarke has gone back to the National League, but there is gold in those hills, if you’re willing to mine.
We’ve had mixed outcomes. Jay Benn wasn’t a big hit, but there is no doubt Ben House has been a huge player for us after arriving from Eastleigh. Let’s not forget Reeco Hackett impressed at Bromley before his Pompey move, and Lorent Tolaj, a shining light in Plymouth’s awful season, was at Aldershot two seasons ago.

With that in mind, I decided to delve into the dark depths of the National League to see if there were ten players who might just make the League One grade with a sensible move and managed loans in League Two.
As it turns out, I had to do some trimming just to get down to ten, presented in no particular order.
