Six Players Lincoln City Should Consider In The Summer Transfer Window

Nathan Asiimwe

Nathan Asiimwe is currently on loan at AFC Wimbledon from Charlton Athletic, continuing his early senior career after progressing through the South London club’s academy system.

He joined Charlton at a young age and broke into the first team as a teenager in 2022. Since then, his development has been supported through loan spells away from The Valley, including time with Hartlepool United and Walsall before a season-long move to Wimbledon. Along the way he has also received international recognition with a call-up to the Uganda national team.

His profile is similar to that of Tendayi Darikwa, and right back is one position we perhaps don’t have long-term plans in. Tom Hamer, Deji Elerewe, Josh Honohan and Ryley Towler do feel like a future set of defenders, but a progressive, powerful right back would help immensely.

Asiimwe has four goal involvements for the Wombles this season, but has also been heavily involved at the back. He’s certainly able to shift between right back and right wing back comfortably, but he is under contract at Charlton until 2027, with a club option until 2028.
