Nine Obscure Europe-Based African Players That Could Interest Lincoln City

Josué Doké

Josué Doké is a 21-year-old Togolese forward who plays for JK Narva Trans. He began his career with the West African Football Academy before joining Belgian side Charleroi on loan in 2023, making two appearances in the Belgian Pro League. He later moved to Lithuanian side Be1 NFA, where he scored two goals in 26 league appearances during the 2024 1 Lyga campaign before joining Narva Trans ahead of the 2025 season.

Doké enjoyed a productive first year in Estonia, scoring nine league goals in 31 Premium Liiga appearances during the 2025 campaign, as well as adding a goal in the Estonian Cup. He has continued that form into 2026 with seven goals in his first 10 league matches. Internationally, he has represented both Togo and Togo U23 level, making three appearances during Africa Cup of Nations qualification in 2021.

Why Lincoln? I seem to be falling into a pattern here. Versatile forward, wanting to run at players, but also not afraid of hard work, with decent returns for aerial duels and ground duels. He can play in the ten or wide, but prefers through the middle. There might be work to do – he does beat a lot of players, but isn’t one for crossing: still, even as an attacking player, he scores well for interceptions at his current club, and that sort of stat isn’t one necessarily affected by the level as much as, say, goals.
