Nine Obscure Europe-Based African Players That Could Interest Lincoln City

Ibrahim Cissé

Ibrahim Cissé is a 22-year-old Ivorian centre back who plays for FC Džiugas Telšiai. He began his career with Zoman before moving to Norway with Lillestrøm, featuring for the club’s reserve side during a loan spell in 2022. He later moved to Finland with SJK, making appearances in the Veikkausliiga while also playing regularly for SJK Akatemia in the Ykkösliiga.

Cissé joined Džiugas on loan during the 2024 season and quickly became a regular in Lithuania, scoring once in 11 A Lyga appearances before making the move permanent. During the 2025 campaign he played 30 league matches and scored three goals from defence, while also contributing in the Lithuanian Cup. He has started all 11 league matches for Džiugas in 2026, scoring twice, and has represented Ivory Coast at U20 level.

Why Lincoln? Finally, a defender, right? We’ve got a decent one to look at here. He’s good in the air, left-sided (always a bonus) and can create goals as well. He’s got two goals and two assists since February, but it’s the assists I like, as the goals were penalties! He carries the ball really well, striding out of defence and for one assist against Hegelmann Litauen, played a one-two before sliding in a final ball. The other? A header from a long throw for a player to volley home. Classic Lincoln.
