Dario Sarić – Not Possible
Both us and Bolton were linked with Bosnia and Herzegovina international midfielder Dario Sarić, as per journalist Nicolo Schira.
The 29-year-old is currently with Antalyaspor in the Turkish Süper Lig, having joined permanently in 2025 after an earlier loan spell from Palermo. He is primarily a central midfielder, although he has also been used in deeper and more advanced roles.
Schira reports that the Imps are not alone in looking at Sarić, with Greek side Iraklis and Bolton Wanderers also credited with interest. He has played much of his career in Italy, coming through at Cesena before spells with Carpi, Ascoli and Palermo, who signed him in 2022 for a fee reported to be around €2 million.
Bolton’s interest is fascinating, as they’re reported to have appointed Belgian Laurent D’Affnay as head of European recruitment as they look to exploit the market. This report broke almost three weeks ago, and since then, another side has been linked with a move: Super Lig outfit Bodrum.
Sarić made 24 Süper Lig appearances for Antalyaspor last season, starting 16 times as they finished 16th. He has ten caps for Bosnia and Herzegovina, although he has not been named in their World Cup squad, and his international record may be relevant under ESC rules, with Bosnia currently outside the top 50 of the FIFA World Rankings.
Also, at last night’s fixture event, Jez George mentioned that ESC rules now only apply to players 23 and under, which would seemingly rule Sarić out.
