Odin Bailey – Possible
Finally, outlining a lack of credible reports, we have been linked to Odin Bailey, a free agent. The 26-year-old attacking midfielder is leaving Stockport this summer, and our name popped up in conversation.
Bailey joined Stockport from Salford City, initially on loan in September 2023, before making the move permanent in January 2024. He helped County win the League Two title in 2023/24 and has since been a regular part of their League One squad, with his record standing at 92 league appearances and seven goals for the club.
A former Birmingham City player, Bailey has also had loan spells with Gloucester City, Forest Green Rovers and Livingston, giving him experience in the EFL and Scottish Premiership. His availability as a free agent, recent League One minutes and attacking midfield flexibility make him a logical name to appear on recruitment lists, although the reported Sheffield Wednesday interest suggests City would not be alone if that interest develops.
Sheffield Wednesday have been mentioned, and their interest feels more likely. He’s not proven himself capable in the Championship, despite a decent season with Stockport. He could well add value to a squad, but a move into the third tier feels a more likely outcome for me.
