Eight Free Agents Who Could Add Value To Lincoln City This Season

Marcus Forss

Forss came through the academies at West Bromwich Albion and Brentford, breaking into the Bees’ first team after a prolific spell with their B team. The Finnish international had successful loan spells with AFC Wimbledon and Hull City before joining Middlesbrough in 2022, where he scored 18 goals across four seasons and was used both as a forward and a winger. He spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Bolton Wanderers, helping them win promotion to the Championship before being released by Middlesbrough when his contract expired.

At 27, he’s in his prime, so he could be looking for a chunkier payday than we might be able to offer. He didn’t tear League One apart while at Bolton, which is a slight red flag, but he has over 100 appearances in the Championship and 27 goals, making him a decent proposition for a club able to get the best from him.
