Conor Chaplin
Chaplin came through Portsmouth’s academy and made 122 appearances for the club, scoring 25 goals and helping them win the League Two title in 2016/17. He later had spells with Coventry City and Barnsley before joining Ipswich Town in 2021, where he became a key figure in back-to-back promotions, winning the League One Golden Boot and PFA League One Player of the Year in 2022/23.
After scoring 49 league goals for Ipswich, including his first Premier League goal in 2024, he returned to Portsmouth on loan for the 2025/26 season before being released by Ipswich in May 2026. He has good experience across a variety of leagues, including the most recent Championship campaign, and a decent record for staying injury-free. He’s not the biggest, but he might have that spark of creativity we need in matches, with five goal involvements last season for Pompey.
