Ben Osborn
352 of Osborn’s 390 career appearances have come in the Championship and the Premier League. 20 of his 21 goals have come at that level as well, and he impressed me for Stockport at the tail end of last season. Also, he’s a former Derby County player, so it’s a no-brainer, right? He is a left-sided midfielder, capable of playing left back, but we’re relatively okay in that position.
Osborn came through the Nottingham Forest academy and went on to make 212 league appearances for the club, scoring 15 goals and winning their Player of the Season award in 2017/18. He joined Sheffield United in 2019 and spent five years with the Blades, featuring in both the Premier League and Championship before moving to his hometown club Derby County in 2024. After an injury-affected spell with Derby, he spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Stockport County, helping them reach the League One play-off final, before leaving Pride Park when his contract expired in 2026.
