Charlie Savage
Charlie Savage emerged as a reported Imps target in May after an impressive campaign with Reading, with Cardiff City, Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield Wednesday also linked with the midfielder. An initial valuation of around £1.5 million was later revised to £800,000 as Savage entered the final year of his contract, potentially bringing him closer to our price range. The 23-year-old made 43 league appearances during 2025/26, scoring twice and providing five assists, while his ability to operate in several midfield roles made him an intriguing option for the step up to the Championship.
There has been no confirmed progress on a move to Sincil Bank, although further reports in June suggested Championship clubs were continuing to monitor Savage’s situation. Reading must now decide whether to offer the Wales international a new contract or consider selling him this summer rather than risk losing him for nothing in 2027. Savage remains a Reading player, and no club has yet been reported to have submitted an accepted bid for his services.
