Jack Diamond

Jack Diamond was one of the more familiar names linked with Lincoln City earlier in the summer, having previously scored six times in 31 league appearances during his loan spell at Sincil Bank. Portsmouth were also credited with an interest, while Stockport County were reportedly seeking more than £1 million for a player entering the final year of his contract.
However, Diamond has remained part of Stockport’s side since the season began. He featured against Doncaster Rovers in the League Cup before playing in their opening League One fixtures, scoring in the 3-1 victory at Plymouth Argyle and appearing again against Blackpool.
More importantly, he does not appear to fit the profile City are currently pursuing. The Imps seem to be looking for players capable of immediately improving a Championship squad, while Diamond is 26 and still playing in League One. There has also been nothing fresh to indicate that either club is working towards a transfer.
